Ms. Chi is ¡§over the moon¡¨ about the nomination, and praised the
organizers ¡V the World of Children ¡V for their work to recognize child
rights¡¦ activists.

¡§This is wonderful for the Garden of Hope, and all the NGO¡¦s in
Taiwan. But, it¡¦s more than that ¡V it¡¦s for all the people helping
children in our region and around the world. I¡¦m very honored and
grateful,¡¨ Ms. Chi said.

The Kellogg¡¦s Child Development Award is made each year to individuals
at the forefront of child welfare internationally. Ms. Chi was named

The award carries one cash prize of US$100,000 (for the major winner),

¡§We have so many services for children ¡V counseling for kids who have
suffered abuse, shelters, social work support for disadvantaged
families, as well as prevention programs. We do our best with what we
have, but it seems our resources are always behind our needs.
