Greetings from Malawi!

¡@

The Garden of Hope was honored to welcome His Excellency Ambassador to Taiwan Thengo Maloya from the Republic of Malawi, and visiting Malawi Health Minister the Honorable Dr. Hetherwick Ntaba and Mrs. Ntaba during the health minister's recent trip to Taiwan. The minister and GOH staff were very interested to exchange information about social problems facing both Malawi and Taiwan, as well as successful approaches to dealing with these challenges. Mrs. Ntaba, who is the national coordinator of the Pan African Christian Women's Alliance, was also very interested in the history of social mobilization by the GOH. From, our perspective, GOH staff were very thankful for our visitors' interest and kind comments on our work, and very grateful for the opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of Malawi efforts to combat HIV/Aids.

Join us at the German Cultural Center Saturday, October 1st

If you will be in Taipei on October 1st, come to join us at the German Cultural Center as we take part in stories and kid's activities to mark German National Day at the center. The Garden of Hope will joins many other local groups to make it a great day out for kids and adults.

GOH staff members will be on hand to present a children's story in the "story room", followed by an activity to teach young kids about personal safety. It's an important subject, and the activities will help kids learn a little and have lots of fun at the same time. This year, our friends from the Kaleidoscape Language Academy will join in to help make the afternoon a fun day for all.  Plus, there will be all kinds of fun-filled activites for kids of all ages. We look forward to seeing everyone there - so bring your whole family and get ready for fun!
